The Detroit Amateur Radio Association (DARA), one of Michigan’s oldest and most active ham radio organizations, has announced its updated itinerary for upcoming community outreach programs and technical workshops. DARA plays a crucial role in providing license training, mentoring new operators (Elmers), and organizing public service communications across the greater Detroit metropolitan area.
Members are actively enhancing local VHF/UHF repeater infrastructure and hosting weekly educational nets. Youth STEM initiatives remain a cornerstone of DARA’s mission, encouraging students to explore RF technology, satellite tracking, and digital messaging modes.
